She is young and this is her first year in the Junior category. In 2006 she has won the Copa Colombia, the youth XC Colombian title and the Youth Pan American Championship in Balneario Camboriu (Bra). In all these occasions, she has defeated older athletes than herself. In 2007, in addition to the Copa Colombia, she will try to get a good result in the Pan American Championship of Angostura (Arg) as well as at the World Championships of Fort William (Scotland). Laura is strong on the plain, with a great attitude in the descents and also in the XC races. Since the age of 8 years, Laura competes in the mountain bike world because of medical suggestions referred to her leg’s shortening of 1,5 cm.
